As an experienced roof cleaning company, we have built up a portfolio of roof cleaning before and after photos that show just how impressive a clean roof can look. In our experience it’s common for inexperienced roof cleaners to primarily use ladders to gain access which poses an unnecessary risk to themselves and means a higher probability for damaged roof tiles. It is also common for them to use pressure washers that can do more harm than good.

The owners of External Cleaning Cumbria (ECC) are father and son, Paul and William Mortimer. Paul had a financial services background before moving into the cleaning industry in 2010. He also owns iclean Carlisle, a company that has been providing cleaning services to the majority of estate agents and builders in Carlisle for over a decade. Paul and William also run Mortimer’s Window Cleaning, one of the largest window cleaning companies in the North West of England. After many years of providing these exceptional services, they decided to expand their expertise into other specialist, exterior cleaning sectors.

ECC, have gained the reputation as one of the most reliable and trusted exterior cleaning companies in Cumbria. Even though our Roof Cleaning service has now become our main specialism, we are still regularly found on many driveway forecourts and car parks, of hundreds of businesses and homes, still carrying out the variety of our other useful services.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ROOF CLEANING

Do you clean out the gutters when you have finished cleaning the roof?

Yes always. We carry out a full clean up after every roof clean, this includes the gutters and downspouts.

Do you treat the roof with anything after cleaning?

Yes we do and this is a very important part of the cleaning process. After cleaning your roof we will apply a biocide treatment, this guarantees that any roots or spores left behind are killed within minutes. Because of the thorough steam clean and the biocide treatment, you can be confident that you will not see moss return to your roof for many years.

Is it necessary to have the roof cleaned regularly in the future?

No. Once cleaned your roof should never need cleaned again. The only recommendation we make is to have the biocide reapplied every 5-10 years. The frequency depends on the environment around your property.

Are you insured?

Yes. We have liability insurance of 10 million pounds. We are happy to provide a copy of this before we carry out any work.

Do you need to attend my property/business to provide me with a quote?

Although we are more than happy to visit you in person, we can also provide quotes using street view and Google maps. The advantage of this is that we can often provide you with a quote within minutes of receiving your enquiry.

Can your method of cleaning damage my roof?

Absolutely not. We agree with our customers who feel that standing on a roof or using high pressure could potentially damage you roof. Our method of cleaning combines low pressure and heat to gain the amazing results you can see on our website.
